My little flock is starting to grow up now, coming closer to laying age for the girls. They've managed to strip the greenery in their run, and poop is starting to accumulate. The plan has been to use various forms of bedding and let it compost over time and hopefully eventually use it in a garden.
I got a bale of straw today, then started thinking about the misters. Will a little bit of straw getting wet every day be a mold hazard? The ground tends to dry out in the morning before the misters get turned on. Not sure if straw will do the same or not.
Would it be better to do straw away from the misters and wood shavings where the misters are?
