straw for bedding for chicks?

Is it okay to use straw as bedding for chicks?

Some people use it others don't. I prefer pine shavings, the big curls, not the saw dust fluff, for my chicks.

Please be careful that they dont spill there water. It smells so bad. I use pine shavings as it dont smell as bad

I use straw and paper towels and it works great. Never had a problem.
