straw hanging out of vent and pooing yolks

The other day I noticed a liquid egg in the run . Today I discovered who probably did it. My BO had some black gooey straw hanging out of her backside, when I gently tried to pull it out some more yolky egg came with it. I couldn't get it all out. She's standing around all puffed up and not eating. Should I intervene further or wait for the straw to pass out of her system on it's own ? I usually sprinkle olive oil on their pan of treats every morning. Do I need to put on a glove and see what more I can get ?

Sounds like she might be eggbound. I've never had an eggbound hen before, so I don't have any practical advice for you, but running a search for "eggbound" may yield some useful information. Hope she feels better soon!
