Strawberries????????

Does anyone know if chicken like strawberries. I have some that i need to get rid of and if they will eat them i wil feed them to my chickens

I have never given my hens the whole berry but I have given them the tops when I am making jam. This is only about 5 lbs at time and only daily. I don't want anyone to get a belly ache.

I have given the berries to my flock of chickens and ducks - I just cut them into bite sized pieces and they got nuts for them !!

I am growing a few plants in a strawberry pot in the front yard and my crazy banty roo jumps the fence and helps himself to the plants, berries everything !!
so I will be lucky to get one berry for myself this year

I had extras to. I tossed them over the railing and the chickens went nuts.

Grabing them and running, chasing each other. It was great fun for all.

I give mine strawberrys and bananas, they love it.

My girls love to get strawberry tops and the squishy berries too ripe for my kids to eat!

In fact, we covered our strawberry bed this year to make sure WE get first pick!

thsnk you all I will have to take pics when i give the strawberries to my birds. If they go as crazy over them as they do worms t will be fun. lol

They love berries of any kind (when we lived in Texas, we put the run right by the mulberry trees for instant treats

) as those types of things are what chickens would eat naturally, anyway. They also go crazy for pumpkins, tomatoes, and melons, too. They just love anything "red" especially.
