My little brother loves to shoot his pellet gun around the back yard. Mom and Dad had to get him biodegradable pellets because of how many would end up in the yard and garden. I know he won't shoot any chickens (because I'll always be watching) but I'm concerned about free ranging chickens eating the pellets. He also has a red rider bibi gun that shoots metal pellets. I'm more worried about what might happen if they eat those. Thanks for the advice!

they could get sick, some of our chickens died from eating bunny/ squirrel poop

I'm not sure I'd worry about them. My son shoots his pellet gun quite often in an area my chickens free range in. I've never seen them actually eat one, but if they have I'd imagine they'd pass thru. I've seen my chickens scarf up mice, frogs and snakes. They even gave a styrofoam cooler a good pecking once, they're still alive ;)
