Stray Dog Attack: Wounded Hen!

I ask bc I am, I'm in SE MO and it's getting sleepy over here, lol. Did she drink the sugar water? If she won't take it on her own, dip your finger in it and touch a drop to the side of her beak, where the upper and lower beaks join. She should chew and swallow. Keep doing that till she refuses by shaking her head. Don't get any in her nostrils!

Don't worry about the fat. You cannot believe how tough chickens are! We had a hen that a dog got a hold of and took a chunk out of her back and I nearly fainted, I could see inside her! But she pulled through and in three weeks she was back out with the flock, so have faith. Did you give her sugar water?
That sounds like my hen's wounds years ago! And she also healed great.

Any luck?
I used a small syringe and I only placed a little at a time at the front of her beak with her head level, and she did fine. I took it slow because I do not want to make her aspirate. She drank a little over a milliliter, and then she said she was done.

Perfect. Now what you do next is up to you. Since it is so late, if it is safe to do so, you could gently bundle her up in a towel and put her in a safe, dark place for overnight. In the bathtub maybe, if she will be left alone? Or in a box in the bottom of a closet or in your room? Then maybe in the morning see if your neighbor can take her.
