Stray Geese

Ok - FINALLY got things figured out. I'm picking them up tomorrow after work. I will take pics cs of my temporary set up once the rain stops (don't want to take my phone out in this deluge). I'm VERY excited!

When I talked to the gal this morning, she said it'd be just the two females after all. That is probably a good thing because I'll be able to (hopefully) integrate them with my ducks, and they can all share the big 11' stock tank pool.

Here they are! The fence I ordered was delayed due to weather, so they are in with the goats for the moment. And, yes, the gander is here, too. Sigh...

Not ideal, but it's ok for now. There's not a ton of grass here because of the rain, but they have pellets. The fence should get here any day. Then they'll have grass and a pool.

So we have Thelma, Louise, and JD. Idk which girl is which yet.

I just gotta get them to go in tonight, but the fence is hot, so if I can't, they will at least have that

Any ideas how to make them go into their house? Lol

Thinking I may just lump them in with the goats. They can go on the goats' loafing pen once the goats are locked up.
That's what I would do. The one on the left of the first photo looks like it's crossed with African. I think your male is the one with the longer neck in the second picture.

I figured out the gander right away. She could be crossed with African. I really have no idea. But they needed a home, so now they're here, and I'm stressed out. I have them in a XXL dog crate in the goat house. It isn't great. At all.

I just don't want them to a) get killed by a predator, b) get squished by my goats, or c) leave.

Will they be ok overnight in the crate? Or should I move them into the goats' loafing pen? Everything is surrounded by electric netting.

Not sure if you can get them back into the crate. If you can than put them there for the night. Otherwise if the goats don't mind them put them there. I have never added adult geese, so I have no experience on how long before they settle in.

Is there room in the goat shed to block off a corner with fencing or pallets? That's what I would do for a few days until they start to settle.
That's my plan. I did get them in the crate. It was too late to do it tonight.

I had EVERY intention of putting them in the dog house, which is already set up for them. But it just wasn't going to happen tonight. They were too nervous to go in. The girls went right into the goat house. The gander took some coaxing (read: I had to chase him in).

I really thought I was prepared. They taught me otherwise. 😂

Now I feel a kinda stupid and guilty.
