I have a 5 week old chick healing from a broken leg. I put another chick in there for company. But I've noticed the one I put in there has lost feathers and charges at me when I bring them food. Im not sure if its in part that i think its a male. I'm hoping for ideas on what to do.

I agree, likely it's because both are cockerels. Looks like the reddish one is molting, this may be the reason for feather loss.
Some cockerels are bit more pushy than others, make sure they have room.
A gentle slap or peck may work or it may be seen as a challenge and make things worse, depends on the personality of the bird.

Charging you may also be stress, but very well may just be Food Aggression, this needs to be nipped in the bud now or you're going to have an aggressive bird that you don't want to deal with.
Read this, there's a section on Feed Bucket Aggression.

Both are cockerels. gently slap it back when he gets testy.
