I am attending Penn College of Technology this coming August. I recieved word today that I am 5,00 dollars short for my college tution and fees. I am so stressed out and don't know what to do now. I've exhausted FASA and PHEAA and I don't know what to do.

On top of this problem I am scheduled for my placement tests August 3rd and August 10th and its just a lot of running.

I don't know if i should scream or cry.

i would try screaming first and then if that doesnt help you can try crying.

I hope you figure out a way. My older sister is going to Wilkes College this fall.

It is a truly stressful time. I went to college and took care of all that cr*p myself too. Now I teach at one and I hear the constant stress of students in those aspects.

Look, that is what the financial aid office is for. Call them, talk (sweetly) with them about additional options. They always seem to be resistant I know, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Take your placement exams, know that you are not the only incoming freshman in this predicament. The FA office and school has many many students struggling to pay. But dont let it discourage, escpecially in this economy, a college degree will serve you well.

And dont forget, some credit unions and bands also do student loans.

The Admission's office has been closed due to Holiday Vacation hours. I will try calling them again tomorrow. I just checked my email and they sent me an email saying I've been placed on the waiting list for a dorm room

College forces you to grow up and think independently, even moreso than high school. The growing pains can be tough at first.

I've lived on my own in another state; just think of the new town as an adventure, as if you're an exchange student. If you do end up in an off-campus apartment, you'll learn to find the college. Don't worry! One of the first things I did as a college freshman was take myself on a walk from where I lived to all of my classes so I'd know where the buildings were and wouldn't get lost. If you do the same thing before classes start, you'll learn how to get places. Bring your bike and a very sturdy bike lock.

Hang in there!!
