Stressed my new Silver laced Wyandotte hen out trimming her nails.

Think I also wouldnt "put" her on a roost. If she cant get up there on her own give her a bed on the floor.

@granny hatchet you make a good point. It may be better to make a place for her in the coop or cage her in a wire kennel/dog crate with her own food/water. She may feel more secure. Let her still be near the others if at all possible.

Thank you all so much yes they are in their own coop. I will see what she does tonight she was up in the house last night just not on roost I will let her choose where she wants tonight. I'm thinking she was always blind the more I watch her I always thought how she lifted her feet to walk a little extra high was odd but she is going around now the same she was before I stressed her out and she has always been easy to catch maybe because she can't see us lol I don't know, all I know is to keep coop the same and give vitamins and offer dust bath and time will tell.

sounds like a plan to me. Also why WR was telling you about wry neck, I think you should treat those mites. She could be depleted in vitamins she needs . You can use a few different things without having to bother her much. drops would be good.

Thank you I will have to get the drops I have the powder and made a ash and powder dust bath but they have not used it yet. Tonight I will go ahead and powder them just in case and get the vitamins in them. The 2 hens and the 4 chicks all came from the same property so I'm going to treat all the same. I really think She was blind before watching her now though but just in case. Her eyes are not cloudy or anything but I thought when I first got her she was different.

I hope you didnt pay much . I see so many people pass sick chickens or like in your case, possible blind because they are done with them and cant do what should be done. Starting off with chickens is hard enough without throwing a special needs hen in the mix.

No I got them for free but for someone not knowing about them google has really been my friend on what I need to do get and all I just wanted some laying hens for eggs and well I guess you have to learn somewhere lol I will do my best thanks again

You mention that she steps high? Can you post a video?

I know you have a lot on your list:D Check her crop when she goes to "bed" then first thing in the morning. Nighttime should be full, morning before eating/drinking it should be empty. Sometimes if a chicken has a crop issue, they can look like "high steppers", but you are most likely right, she may be overcompensating because she can't see (the nails may be bothering her too).
--Just a thought.
