My bluebell hen just hatched out this striped chick - does anyone know if it’s possible to have a ‘throwback’ of a different breed? The father is a pure white silkie. There were a few white silkie eggs in the nest too. All the other chicks are either black (like bluebell) or typical silkie types. Thanks

I’m not best on colors, so I can’t help with that. But white silkies can hide any possible color.
Thanks, that does make sense. One of the white silkies came from the line of a chocolate silkie so maybe it wasn’t the bluebell’s own egg (there were a mix in there) . Thanks again

Bluebelle’s are a mix/hybrid. I believe they’re usually created from blue copper Marans and Rhode Island Reds. So it’s possible to get throwbacks.

Thank you . It just confused me that all the others are obvious from which egg they came out of - that’s great to know! Thanks
