Strong, big, a leader, pretty. What rooster?

My most protective male was a dominique. When a hawk tried attacking one of the hens, he jumped right on it. By the time I got to them, the hawk was dead. He was the sweetest bird, and over 2 feet tall. In the future, I really hope to get back into breeding them.

I have to catch the Langshan cockerel first because he will protect ANYTHING in his pen.

Even the older cockbird!!!!

If you go to pick up a hen...he will attack. So..he's ALWAYS the first in the carrying cage...LOL.

RIR roosters! very protective, very handsome, and huge. usually aggressive. Crowing quite a lot(ours does anyway)
