Struggling a bit

Hi all

I have tried candeling my blue eggs and my duck eggs.

I am using a torch.

I cann ot see anything in the blue shells, it seems the shell is too thick for my weak torch?
they have been in the incubator for 11 days.

The duck eggs have only been in 4 days, but I thought i may as well have a look?

there is a definite dark shape in the duck eggs. Is that good?
There are no veins as yet, but i dont think my torch is strong enough?

One of the eggs the biggest has two dark shapes. Is that twins or a bad egg?
I noted that as i turned the egg in the beam i saw the dark spot float to the bottom.
Is it dead?

I have candelled an egg from the fridge just to compare and they def look different.

Update

i just tried it again in the dark.

There is definitley something in the duck eggs.

The blue eggs are just too dense. But on a second look i think it may be that the egg is full?
It has been 11/12 days they have been in the incubator.
It is just a dark mass. is this correct?

It certainally isnt anything like the egg from the fridge as that just lets the light through.

The duck eggs have a definite shape and the blue eggs look full up?

oh I so hope this works.

As long as they don't stink I'd say you're doing just fine. I use an LED flashlight to candle but the darker shells are really hard to candle so I just guess usually. Sounds like they are all fine though. And yes, possibly twins LoL

Can one actually have twins?

i def have a double yolker, it is huge. There are 2 dark masses, no veins but it has only been 4 days.

No they dont smell at all.
Would they smell if they were not broken?

They all look exactly the same?

I either have 6 duck eggs and 12 skyline blues at 100% sucess or 100% failure?

Will let you know in about 10 days re the blue eggs and 20 days re the ducks.

If they were rotten, you would DEFINATELY smell it. You'll know when it happens. Since you don't, I would assume they are all successful babies growing in there. 4 days is probably too early to see veins but if you can see 2 seperate masses then you have twins

Just a warning: You'll probably have to help them hatch.

I def see two dark masses in an egg. I think maybe 2?

I will try to take a pic tomorrow,

The one egg is REALLY BIG.

How do i help them hatch? i thought best leave alone. Are you suggesting i peel away at the shell at some point?

Well they will start to hatch on their own but usually they are too squished together to make it out on their own.
