I have a chick I got from TSC on Saturday that just doesn't seem to be thriving.
I tried to put her and the others under some broody hens but the momma's weren't having it. I know she was pecked in the eye but that seemed to heal in a day or 2. I'm now raising her inside in my brooder.
She's had a lot of pasty butt the last couple days and today she's barely standing and won't open her eyes. She has taken a few sips of water but thats all. I have electrolytes and some probiotics on the way but any ideas what could be wrong?

So she could be a week old by now? Has she ever eaten or drunk water? I would offer some water with 1 tsp sugar and a small pinch of salt to her by holding it up to her beak as often as possible. Dip her beak into it, as well as some chick crumbles and wet chick feed, and cooked egg yolk. Clean off pasted vent daily and apply a dot of oil to the vent with a QTip. The brooder temp should be 85-90, and decrease it weekly by 5 degrees. Having too much heat can cause more pasty butt.
