I noticed my girl Pepper open-mouth breathing this evening when I let the flock out for yard time. I give them access to grass when I’m with them in the evening. Brought her in, gave her water, looked down her beak (nothing in the throat or mouth), and gave her a subq shot of Tylan 50. Note - she has egg yolk on her beak in the video.
Checked on her two hours after the shot, and her mouth was closed but I could hear a light wheeze. Gave her some egg yolk and checked on her again after an hour but she’s back to open mouth (nothing as bad as when I first let them out tonight but she was walking whereas now she’s sitting so it makes sense).
Anyone have any other advice on what to do? She’s two, never been sick, nobody else is sick, lives in a coop with aspen bedding and a run with construction sand. I changed their coop bedding two weeks ago but they were not allowed in while I was doing it. No sneezing, and other than this sad wheeze and trouble breathing, is acting normal (energy, laying, etc). Video from this evening:
