Stubborn Hens

My ducks have me a bit annoyed. One day I found 2 eggs instead of the regular one. So I figured the 9 hens were starting to think eggs. . . so I ordered a 48 egg hovabactor forced air incubator with autoturner. Now I'm back to one egg a day and the shells seem thini- most likely due to the spinach leaves I gave them. I will be buying some oyster shells although I didn't think I needed to since I use Purina Layena diet. Ducks are getting spoiled with salads etc. Today they'll be getting snap peas. . . but they are still just laying 1 egg/day. I'm guessing just one duck is laying as occasionally a day will be egg-less. Although the eggs keep appearing in different nests.
I need duck eggs in the incubator now so they will be old enough for a herding trial in May but the ducks are not cooperating. Grr. .
Any suggestions?

In funny news the ducks are spending their days lying under the suet feeder hoping wild birds will drop some seeds. They've also made a club house under the deck so I have to find a way to prevent them from going under there. I don't see any eggs under there however I can't crawl under to double check.

My ducks haven't laid in forever. Hopefully as the days get longer, they will get back into egg laying. The shorter days of winter will cause a drop/stop in laying.

All of my ducks except Mrs. Pekin are less than a year old. This will be their first laying season. However Mrs. Pekin is kind of weird (neurotic duck that is overwintering with my flock after coons killed her flock). She lays her eggs in the very back of the quacker box so I have to crawl thru the small door to gather her eggs. She has a very elaborate nest however her owner tells me she has never successfully brooded so I'm still collecting her eggs.

Try animal protein+ beets/potatoes/corn ( higher energy carbs)+calcium.

I swear by venison cat food/dog food or tripe flavor.

My two layers have laid almost every day since December, when they started laying. My second hen is a bit of a diva so she skips the days that she can't take a full feather flapping zomm swimmy bath.

Mine would love a bath! It's been too cold to fill up a small shallow basin for a bath. Hoping it warms up in a few days. They are on Purina Layena with occasional veggie/fruit treats right now. I'll give them a bit more time before adding in cat food- I doubt my cat wants to share.
