Stuff I've learned while raising chickens

Chickens are a big responsibility. You must care for them with love and good food and water. You must watch for animals that could threaten your poultry and keep them locked up at night.

Some things chickens won't eat: Cabbage, zucchini, and mangos.
Care and leftover veggies towards your chickens lead to a chicken friend.
Chickens are funny birds that can run really fast when food is involved.
You can save a chickens life if it gets super wet by staying in a warm area with it with towels and getting the water out from inside the feathers.

It is suprising the lengths you will go to in order to save a sick or injured chicken!

That is very true. The sad thing is that that chicken is mean to me now.

Thanks for the advice Chickenfan4life, I hope spending time with it changes its attitude. Maybe the reason it picks on me may be that it is treated unkindly by the other chickens.

I've learned to not take myself so seriously. I've learned to slow down and enjoy the simple things.

lol, that made me think of throwing out leftovers to them and watching their funny run. I am only so serious because I want to prove myself to my mom.

That's funny because my mom thought I lost my mind when she heard I was getting chickens.
We have a lot more light hearted conversations now. I don't seem to worry so much anymore
what others think. Thanks for this thread :>
