Hi all -
In trying to be prepared for emergencies, I was just wondering, does anyone have a list (or a link) of supplies that one should keep on hand for poultry in case of injuries or illness?
I mean, aside from the usual gauze, syringes, tongue depressors, vet wrap, cotton swabs, etc..., as I have lots of other animals and I stay pretty well stocked with that kind of stuff. I'm looking more for poultry-specific oral and topical medications, ointments, wormers, and the like. I realize these types of items may have a shelf life, but I'd rather replace unused/expired supplies periodically, than have to go rushing around trying to find things if and/or when something happens.
I might add, I tend to be more of a "naturalist" in my approach to treating my animals for certain conditions, but I do realize that sometimes pharmaceuticals are necessary. So, if you can post what you include (and keep) in your poultry medicine cabinet and/or first aid kit, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks -
