Stunted Growth

I have an Australorp that is now 1 month old and still looks like a chick. She seems healthy in every other way, fighting over food and putting on all her new feathers. The other chickens are nearly 3 times her size though. The breed itself is larger and so I am puzzled. She is no bigger than my palm. Any ideas?

she could just be a small chick . . . maybe a midget-chick! Just keep watching her and see if anything improves. It should be fine if she's acting normal!

Watch her carefully. A lot of serious chicken ailments are pasted on by the egg.

Thanks. So far, she is just a runt. It does seem she is starting to get left behind by the others. She cannot keep up with them anymore.
