Stupid, gross question, but have to ask...

If you keep losing birds I would send one or two in for a necropsy. If you have a vet school near you they'll do it, or just ask a local vet where you can get one done. It's not very expensive and would be well worth it to prevent more deaths.

I wouldn't eat a sick bird, but not much survives high temperatures. I'd probably boil it or bake it and feed it to the dogs if nothing else. Freeze and then boil would work. You don't want to do something like a crock pot where the temperatures stay lower.

But really I'm afraid to use that cage no matter what now. To bad too. Its nice and big. 4 x 8ft and 3ft tall. Oh well, learn from your mistakes right?
