Stupid Guinea Question

I just read about the diff sounds of guineas and could swear the one that is sitting on eggs was the 1 syllable caller could this be possible? Told ya it was a stupid question. My other guinea sure is protective over the one sitting. Hope she hatches but I have never actually seen them (together).

The female Guinea fowl can make BOTH noises. The female Guinea is capable of using the one syllable call while the MALE Guinea is incapable of making the two syllable call.

Male Guinea fowl have also been known to guard the nest and some say the actually sit it at times.

As of 11:30 pm Wend My guinea has hatched out 6 of the 14 eggs she was sitting on

I am sooo excited I collected them an put them in my incubator where I have 1 chich that hatched this evening as well. Neither mom or dad are happy with me at this time. 4 are a light lav color and 2 are light and and dark brown stripe. not sure what kind they are. both mom and dad are dark with white spots. the moms neck looks to have some purple in it I will try to get picts and post! I am soooo excited!!! This was both mom and dads first eggs they are last falls chicks.
