Stupid Hawkssssssssssssss

Lost my favorite black Americana hen, Rosemary, to a hawk last week. It's been back ever since and is just tormenting the rest of my birds. I've been keeping them in the run but the hawk comes and lands right on top. Now my girls won't leave the roost box and my buff orp seems sick (sneezing, discharge from nose). If I can't get rid of this hawk I'm afraid my flock will die.

I used to think I liked all birds but this hawk is driving me nuts.

oh my Lord, i would be tempted to knock him over or something. i get a tennis racket and get some big rocks and go to hitting them to where ever he lands. i dont like having to keep the girls in. they are much happier out but i have been keeping them in some. maybe he wont be back.

yeah i have been. i let them out for a little yesterday morning. then i put them up while we did our school work. i let them back out. i was out there with them the majority of the time watching for the hawk. i thought he would be back since he almost got one.

i am thinking thats what happened that saved my petunia. rascal our blue heeler was cominh up through the yard and was winded so i think he herd the commotion and ran to see. if he sees a BIG bird like a buzzard he will chase it while its in the sky. crazy huh. so i think he interveined

thats what i heard to crows raising a ruckus.

NO i am a new found hawk hater. birds shouldnt eat birds. its nearly nerve racking to have to keep such a watchful eye. i have been going outside and clapping my hands just incase there is one around.
