I heard some people saw their chickens poop in their sleep! They were pooping while sleeping on the roosts. One hen even got pooped by the one on top............ Oh and there is no such thing as a stupid question!

Rather than a perch, mine prefer to sleep on a shelf covered in straw and/or wood shavings and there is lots of poo in the a.m. precisely where their butts slept (at least for the hen, the roo doesn't seem to poop even a fraction of what she does - good god, you'd think there was a german shepard in residence). Anyway, so yes, I'm pretty sure they are multi-tasking - pooping and sleeping, unless they wake up for a second to do their business.

Don't make fun of the WONDERFUL MAGIC JUICE, CT!! When we moved in the front "lawn" was nothing but stark white dead sand. Thanks to the WMJ at least we now have something that vaguely resembles a green yard! Now though-- I have a "stuipider" question: DO CKNS GET THE HICCUPS?? I think Chook had em this morning!! (And before you ASK IT: NO!! She wasn't drinkin' the WMJ!! )

That's what my kids call breastmilk - as in when they see their baby sibling nursing - 'Ah, look he's getting the magic juice'...

Now i'll never think of that phrase the same way again!

Yes, DK Chickens CAN get the hiccups.
Obelisk has had them once when she was eating rice too fast.
