Do chickens poo in their sleep?? I was wondering because it seems like I will put the chickens in at night to a relatively clean coop, and I will let them out in the morning to find about a 1/2 ton of new chicken poo in there! LOL

I don't know, good question. i don't think they would poo in their sleep. I just think they don't sleep all night. I'm sure they don't need 8 hours of sleep like we do, but they feel safe on the roost at night, hence all the poo under it in the morning.

Chickens are light sleepers and wake up a lot, bok, poo, bok, then
back to sleep. At least mine are.
