Stupid question

That doesn't sound stupid to me.
In general yes, since the blue gene that creates both blue and green is dominant, the offspring will lay a version depending on the father's breed. If it is a white egg breed the resulting pullets should lay similar to the mother. If he is a brown egg breed, you may get more green eggs than blue. If he is from a dark egg breed, you may get some olive eggs.
