The weather said no rain today. I'm here in central fl. so I thought I would let me little babies 4wks out in the uncovered run for the 1st time to enjoy some play. What do I hear? Thunder!!!! How the heck am I to gather up all those chicks without scaring the crap out of them, and keeping an eye on the 2 little ones that I have inside

Treats! Failing that bring a dog crate or something along those lines and put it in the run so they have some shelter to hide in. If you can't get them in and have to go the dog crate route you'll have to double check on them when it starts raining because they're not all very bright at that age and may not take shelter.

Yes, try luring them with food first, for sure--failing that, frankly, I'd be more worried about getting them out of the rain than about scaring them... You gotta do what you gotta do...
Hope everything's working out ok!

Id try to huddle them in a corner and scoop them up. Back them in with a piece of card board or wood. Keep them in said corner and grab them, put them in a bucket or box to transport them inside. I would think getting them in as quickly as possible would be better than letting them get wet. Just my 2 cents

got it took no more then 5 minutes. thank goodness they are hand raised and didn't put up much of a fight, besides one wiley cochin. Not a drop on them

I wish my border collies were trained to do that. I love the heck out of them, and they are smart...The problem is they could catch the chickens, not herd the chickens. Big difference. You are so lucky. Oh well, I guess we will just stick with the agility stuff and leave the herding to the REAL Border Collies.
