Styrofoam Incubators

I have a couple of the Styrofoam incubators, have been doing very well for a new comer, but what does the humidity play in the hatching process, what is the min and max needed to have the highest possible hatch. Also, has anyone had any success aiding in the hatching of a chick when they do not come out of the egg on its own. It was nearly three days before I helped it complete the hatching, what needs to be done when this happens to help it survive? Thanks.

Humidity is highly subjective.

For me I prefer 20 to 40 percent during incubation. I've found this gives me my best hatches.

But others need to be 45 plus during incubation. Depends on your area altitude. You just have to find what works best for you. Thru trial and error.

I agree with feedman77......You just have to try, .....During setting I have my incubator set at 50%...Then if Air cells are still small I will drop humidity down to 40 or lower....For hatching I raise it to 65%.......It all depends on where you live......what you see during candling......
