Super large combs that fold over frostbite less, since they are against the warmth of the head.

Tiny single single combs with points up in the air are much more likely to get frostbite... at least all of the little points will freeze off.

Makes sense. I didn't think about it that way.
The water in the pan might freeze a thin crust 2x each winter around here. It's interesting to me how different our setups need to be.
