I have a 4 or 5 week old Japanese bantam chick with subcutaneous emphysema . I have been releasing air from directly under the outermost layer of skin. But, he seems to have a lot if air trapped under the next layer down. Is it ok to puncture this layer also? If I shine a light on him I can see where all the veins and stuff is. I just don't want to make him leak more air into his body by rupturing his air sacs even more. Please help.
