subdued chicken

One of our chickens, who is not yet laying, had been unusually quiet and subdued and has not been eating

. This morning I found a soft shelled egg in the pen and the said chicken was eating. At least 3 others are already laying regularly.

Could this have been what was bothering her or could she have some kind of internal parisite or something?

Also, how often should I bee worming my chickens?

It could just be egg production start up issues. I'd keep a close watch on her - she may be fine now that the first egg has passed. Hopefully her next egg will be more normal, and she will continue eating.
