yeah i would wait until they are at least 15 months and/or 60-70% of their mature body weight. better to go by size than age,really.

I'd like to see a thread all about this. In about 10 years or so I want to get into cows. I'm already looking into property in the southwest

Ok, let's see, here are my guys, not BYC members, but spouse and sons of mine. First Dh, who as much as he is not into the animals, does my building, heavy moving, and puts up with all I drag home!! The only recent one I could find was from Splash Universe holding our youngest.

This is my oldest son with his girlfriend. He is in the green shirt. Hard to get a photo of him without her, but at least she is a sweetheart, so I don't mind. He is 20, in college and working fulltime.

This is my youngest son, 9 years old. Cute as a button!
