substituting chicken eggs and taking my Pekin's eggs to hatch

So what if I bring her here and let her brood of the last week on the eggs that I have right now in the incubator,..will that work?
I'd love to hear you brought her home but you have no guarantee she will go broody on any of her eggs. It's not a common trait in Pekins. although some do go broody.

And if you hatch these eggs she will not see the ducklings as hers and can even attack them along with any other bird that is living at the lake/pond. those ducklings won't have a chance if you take them there and let them go.

How do we get little Pekins if she won't sit on the eggs? Do all of us have to do it for them or wait to see if she will?
You can't force one to go broody and there aren't alot of Pekins that will. We have a Pekin Club thread here on BYC talk to members who have Pekins and let them tell you. Hatching duck eggs is one thing but hatching ducklings for a Pekin living in a public pond or lake and wanting to give them to her is not being very considerate or responsible of her or the ducklings your hatching they aren't for her they are for you. She will not see them as hers. IMPRINTING happens at hatch.

So if I bring her here which I am serious about doing because last night when I was feeding her she starting screaming and a Mallard drake was swimming towards her and her mate fought him off (that is why I named him Rocky). Is is possible a Mallard drake(especially Rocky) would stay here with her? If I hatch them will they hurt the ducklings?

You cannot take a wild duck its against the law. But the Pekin isn't wild so her you can bring home.

They will not recognize the ducklings as theirs and drake have been known to kill ducklings. She can even attack and kill ducklings. Drakes have nothing to do with hatching or raising of their young anyway. They are just there to fertilize the eggs. If she was to start brooding her eggs the drake would be gone. He is finished.

Ok,..I know I will sound stupid but how many times does it take to fertilize the eggs,...she has laid 20 so far,..like she did last year but they were not fertile,..I think Mama made sure of that,..so my question is does it take one insemination or several times?,....Could the 1st eggs she laid be infertile then "Rocky" comes along and the rest get fertilized,...or,......what? I am obviously new in the fowl department but have taken care of many animals,..raised 22(house) rabbits for 9 yrs so been thru the gamut with those babies,...
What if she starts sitting them,..do I then bring her here with the eggs and help her make a (secure)nest,..she will be depressed with no other ducks or her pond,..I am so frustrated!!

A homemade one that I made from stuff I got from Petsmart and stuff around the house,.. I have pictures but I am having trouble getting on this website,..I have a few cracked eggs that "almost" looks like a bullseye but wanted a 2nd opinion,..
