I am in the Houston TX suburbs, subdivision, traffic, neighbors, and HOA. So far those powers have not found my chickens. I have 4 Silkies, a Cochin, and a frizzle. They are all ground birds and do not try and fly or wander. I do have a fenced yard and so no one can see them unless they are looking over a 6 foot fence. I have a small coop and a run. If anyone asks; it is for my indoor cats.
The one problem I have is 2 of my hens have turned out to be roosters and so they Crow. I only have one neighbor on one side and an open field on the other. My neighbor is very understanding and we try and keep the roosters indoors overnight so the neighbor can sleep in. Silkie roosters are not very loud. I have 0nly had the chickens for about 6 month. I am happy to join this forum. Thanks

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock!:welcome BYC is a helpful site providing all of the information you need to know about poultry. There is always space for more members on the BYC roost!:highfive: I would rehome one of the silkies since overbreeding may occur in a flock of six. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!

Hi there! glad you joined us here. You really might want to consider rehoming your roosters, or getting a legal permit (if roosters are allowed). A smaller flock of four hens is easier to hide and keep quiet... and also a lot better than none if someone decides to turn you in. It's also much nicer to be considerate of your neighbors.
Good luck with your chickens!
