Suburban warning

Of course, at that point, I'll have to move outside due to the smell, so I'll have to worry about the predators eating me

My grandparents live in SE Houston, far far away from "the country" and one night I went outside to get something from the car. I heard some leaves moving and it scared me to death. I look up and saw a possum in the tree. I was almost in downtown Houston and I couldn't believe it. I took a picture because I didn't think anyone would believe me.

You call Decatur a CITY?

I lived 2 blocks from Wrigley Field for 30 years and in my backyard had:
-A HUGE opposum that used to "greet" DH & me as we walked up our stairs by hissing at us from the 2nd floor deck.

-A Raccoon family that spooked my outside-going cat by marching singlefile across the teeny Chicago yard (our entire lot was the standard 25'X125') and was probably responsible for the bite he got that abcessed

-Coyote sighted on the local golfcourse (Waveland) - less than a mile from the house

-Peregrine Falcons - these were brought in to control the pigeon population downtown and roosted in highrise buildings.
I'll always remember the meeting I was in when one of them flew smack into the plateglass window in pursuit of a pigeon.
