I am new to the forum. My question is to the people who sell hatching eggs. Yes,I do know that you can't control the eggs after they leave you. But on your feed back from buyers, what is the tipical hatch rate from say 10 eggs.

I ask this question because I just purchased a Sero 20 digital incubator. After doing a test hatch with my small group of wheaton/blue wheaton ameraucana's and my pair of cookoo silkies, I want to buy some quality silkie eggs and some blue splash marans.

I would also like to get the information on care of the eggs before hatching. I have heard that you need to let them sit for a certain amount of time before setting them after shipment.

I am a first time hatcher too.
After I received 14 shipped eggs, I let them sitting around 12-14 hours in room temp. and then placed them to bator.

I only get one out of about 8 on shipped eggs but you do have a better incubator than I do.

I have the R-com King Suro 20 incubator. I set 27 shipped eggs. We're on day 10 of incubation, and 21 out of the 27 are developing so far. I think it really depends on the breeds you buy, how they're handled etc.

I had 9 out of 12 hatch on my first set, but this set I only expect a few. They did not do well in shipping. Out of 13 eggs shipped, 6 are clear (lock down is scheduled for this Sunday) and 3 more have double air cells.
