Success Rate ~Little Giant Incubators

I have a set of eggs in my LG forced air, without turner, due on the 24th. Originally, I set 35 button eggs, had to remove 10 infertiles and 5 are unknowns, the other 20 look good. The incubator took awhile to get set up. I bought it used, and I had no manual, so the *RTFM* doesn't apply, lol. Anyways, I did adjust it twice through incubation. Basically, if it dropped a little low, I left it alone, but if it went a little high, I tinkered. At one point in time, it was at 97.something and another time at 102.something. I am a bit disappointed with it, but, honestly, I think it will still be good to use as a hatcher. The temperature range was similar to my dimmer method, which was a whopping $12 vs $40 if you buy a still-air at TSC. But, other than the hassles of watching it, I can't really say much else, because like I said, my hatch is due in four days.

On the other hand, my Hovabator 1588 w/auto turner came yesterday, and I already put my eggs into it. It was up to temperature within the hour and was stable to .1F for a few hours, despite ambient changes in the room. I didn't have to muck with it or anything, just a quick assembly to change racks, plugged everything in, added some water and waited, then added my eggs.

The thing about the high end Hovas is that they just aren't cheap.

You are into the territory of a used Brinsea Octagon 20, and the choice is a no-brainer.
