Over the last few years i had a reoccuring visit from a Mink. He'd get in, kill a duck or two, try to drag them out the tiny hole he came in through and leave. Then come back a month or so later and do it again. I'd reinforce the defences but he'd still find a way in.
Last year i got some new ducks, and a few geese. Winter came through and was just lovely. When the snow started to melt i made a odd discovery. Inside the run i found the dead body of the mink. It was a good month dead by the time i found it. It probably got in and succumbed to the cold before it could get out, though i'd like to think the geese roughed him up a little for being in the wrong neighborhood.
