I caught one of my muscovy hens(actually my sisters duck) running through the yard with an EGG in her mouth yesterday. She has been broody so obviously i freaked out and ran out to the coop in my socks to take it away... sadly this baby was already dead and cold
I immediately ran in the coop to check the others and they were still there and pipping! I took them all and brought them inside.
They sat under a light for a few while i got the incubator set up and them i popped them in there. Well this morning i have 1 cute little baby in the bator and the rest are still hatching
Glad i got them away before they became momma ducks dinner/toy!
this is the first duck thats done this, this is also her first nest. any reason why she would break open and run off with one of the babies/eggs??
