He's feathering in faster than his older siblings! black wings with white wing tips, and pin feathers for a tail! Will post pics tomorrow!

Lucky chick is part of a lucky family now!

My STUPID neighbours decided to empty their ENTIRE swimming pool right next to our back fence, other side is my chicken coop. We've told them off for it before because it floods out garden/makes it smell like chlorine. This time they did it AT NIGHT I only noticed because I've been paranoid about lucky chick and checked on them at 11pm to find steadily rising water around the broody coop!!! The other hens were ok because their coop is raised. Luckily the nest in the broody coop is in a kitten litter box (see pic it's green) so the nest wasn't submerged yet, but everything else was covered in water!

It looked like they were in a little green boat! Thank god for the kitty litter box idea and my paranoia or my chicks would have drowned/chilled to death!

Broody mumma with lucky chick peeking out when I checked on them this morning!
