Such a nice day hanging with my peas.

DH was at work, so the kids and I were hanging out here around the pool. The peas have recently begun jumping/flying out of the fenced-in "free range" area so they can actually free-range and roost in the trees and torture my Standard Poodles and the cats.

They've slowly warmed up to us in the past two months or so to the point that today, they were dust bathing two feet from my lounge chair! The male actually laid down at my feet and stretched out and took a nap. I am so over the moon about this! They run screeching from us, or have in the past, so this is a big, fat, hairy deal to me. They still are nervous when I had to get up to break up the fights in the pool (little kids are 6&8) but came right back when I sat back down. Hopefully soon they'll eat out of my hand. This is the whole reason I wanted peas to begin with. What a great day I had today!

Now if my ducks wouldn't run screeching! I don't think there are enough peas (the veggie) in the world for that, though!

Ducks will always think you are going to eat them, I haven't found anything that will tame them down

My ducks do allow me (and only me) to walk near them, but that's only when they think they are starving and I'm heading to the feed barrels

Congrats on the step ahead with the peas, I can't wait till I can get some

They are so cool to watch. Out top male India Blue will jump the fence and come over to us every afternoon when we are sitting out back. He will walk right between the dogs - he watches them but they don't give him the time of day and he will stand there looking at you until you give him some dry cat food. They love it.

Ducks are such odd little birds.

I need to get some cheaper cat food, mine seemed to like the store brand junk more than the Iams I got them.
