Sudden death 6 week old peachick

Hi,I had 5 six week old peachicks in the broader box wire mesh to and bottom checked up on them all were fine 3 hours later one was dead no illness at all, Fresh water in the brooder now the heat outside was 42degrees Celsius but inside was cooler what could cause the chick to die suddenly like that. So upset to lose the chick as I hatched them from eggs with so much care

So sorry for your loss. If outside, my guess is overheated.

Otherwise, sometimes we do everything right, yet, one just doesn't make it. It could be something genetic or just a FTT (failure to thrive) issue, or then again, it could just have had something internally wrong with it that only a necropsy could tell.

Peas will find a hundred different ways to kill themselves. Another possibility is that it flushed and broke its neck.
