Sudden death of 4 chickens last week and 6 more today (only 6 left)

I gave a friend of mine 16 chicks about five months ago. Last week he told me 4 have died in the same day (Monday), and today he told me 6 more died (all in the same day). He said there was no sign for any predator. He also said there was no sneezing. I wonder if there is a disease that could kill 4 in one day, then wait a week and then kill 6 more in one day (out of a total of 16 chickens), or is it more likely to be some kind of attack or poisoning.

Without knowing anything about the conditions in which these chickens were kept, it would be a total guess. And I'd guess it was predator or managment related rather than some disease.

But there's really no way of knowing without a lot more info.
