We have just had the most awful experience with our 8 newly hatched Sussex chicks and we cant understand why? We moved 7 into the brooding box, 4 of which hatched yesterday, and left the latest hatchling in the incubator as it was still wet. Suddenly they all started calling loudly. We checked the temperature, it was correct. They then went all floppy. Within minutes one died, followed in just a few minute intervals by the rest.... even the one in the incubator also died?..... One died just prior to getting out of the shell, 4 are showing no signs of hatching and there are still another couple that have pipped and getting nearer to hatch, but we just don't know why this might happen. We have hatched dozens and dozens of them over the past couple of years...... Someone on our Facebook page has suggested vitamin B deficiency, we haven't heard of that but will try and find out more, and we bought the eggs in for hatching. Has anyone got any thoughts as to why this might happen, or have you experienced it?....

How awful! I'm assuming you're using the same incubator and brooder as before. Is there any chance of something bad in the air?
