A friend of mine found 3 ducklings wandering around her yard with no mother. She happened to bring one to my dads work, where he thought it belonged with another nest of ducklings outside his work. After placing it there he realized it didn't belong because it would run away from it rather than get settled. I picked the duck up on my way home so I could take it to a farm the next day.
He seemed healthy, but my friend also wasn't sure if this was the duck that fell and hit it's head. He was able to run around through the house and outside during the evening and settled in at night to his temporary cage. I had a heating light, water, food and a shaded part for him. Nothing seemed to be too hot or cool for him and he was eating normal.
The next morning I woke up and let him out. He came and curled up right next to me to sleep, but then out of nowhere he wasn't able to walk. I placed him back in his cage to let him rest, but a few minutes later he looked almost like he was having a seizure or spasms with his neck/head. He then all of a sudden died.
What happened ? Was this like a seizure or a stroke ? Or was it just hard for him since he was fairly young still ?
