Sudden thrashing hen can’t breathe

Tylan can be given 1/4 ml per pound 3 times a day if using Tylan 50 which is no longer available. Have you had any fowl pox from mosquitoes lately? Wet fowl pox can cause yellow plaques inside the beak. It does not have a bad odor. But canker which aslo can cause yellow plaques, is said to smell very bad. But if her eye is droppy, that sounds possibly like a respiratory disease. Pictures of the eye and the gunk in the beak would be good.

Thank you so much. I will start her on Tylan today. I will get a picture of her eye but it is just droopy on one side. The other side is bright and alert. She is doing much better today but still has phlegm.
however I have 2 peachicks in another coop with their mom and both peachicks are acting Like they have a respiratory infection , shaking head sneezing, etc. they have dry area but itdid rain and is damp my hen keeps taking them out on the damp ground. Should I remove those chicks from my Peahen? I am very worried about reintroducing them to her.
I dosed each chick orally under the tongue with 10mg Tab dissolved in water of Tylan-doxy yesterday. They do not seem worse or better today. I can’t loose these little peachicks

If the pea chicks are already showing signs, the respiratory disease may be already spreading. I would seek to get 1-2 birds tested. You can contact a local vet or the state poultry lab to find out how to test for MG or ILT. Zoologix.com will also send you swabs to collect and send back for testing. I would close the flock to new birds, or to birds ever leaving the flock.

I only have a small hobby farm. There are no new birds to our farm in years. The peachicks were born here. I have their parents. I can try to test but I don’t know how to get them to live till morning when a vet is open. I made a heated area outside for them Incase mom doesn’t set on them when they want

I need to add. Her one eye is alert the other eye is droopy. Very odd

What you describe of the behaviour lets me think about a stroke.

The gunk and blood might indicate ILT.

She seems 100% fine today. Both eyes alert and bright! Hard to believe she was literally upside down dead yesterday! My peachicks are in really bad shape. I do not think they will make tomorrow 10mg tylo-doxy tabs disolved in .05cc water given orally both yesterday and today it does not seem to be enough. The bottle says one 20mg tab for a pigeon.
