Suddenly can't walk! How to make Chicken shoes for adult hen!!!??

Brought in a white cochin sizzle yesterday, she isn't too active and not eating so much.
Taped the original hen's toes again, this time I also taped them in a standing position to her legs. For now, all it's doing is keeping sores from developing in odd places..

give her some yogurt and make sure she has broken a foot. other then that, i don't know

She seems to be doing better. She can slightly move her toes again.
I have moved her and another little hen[not eating white sizzle] to another area. I also took 5 biggest chicks out to the coop.
So, kind of a good day so far.
Hope they both improve more.

Hi,

I have had the same problem with a young hen I bought a week ago. She was fine, then suddenly couldn't walk. She's eating and drinking fine and doesn't seem to be in any pain. It's very cold here, so she's in the barn with a heat lamp and I've started her on yogurt tonight with some eggs to follow tomorrow.

I'd like to know how your hens recover. Thanks for the information. It's nice to know someone else is nursing a chicken with the same symptoms.

So far I've been giving them vitamins in their water, cooked eggs and yogurt everyday, plus the crumbles of course, lol.

Well, her right foot/leg is normal again.
But now her left foot/leg is acting up or should I say has not gotten any better. She walks on the left with the leg all the way down and flat on her hock. It seems as if she cannot move it well from the knee and/or knee down.

if her problem is due to a vitamin deficiency it will take about two weeks to recover in my very limited experience, that is how long it took for my 15 month old hen to recover, but she is fine now

Well, I hope she gets better, at the very least doesn't get worse. If it stays the way it is, she will be a house chicken. But if she can get better and walk again, she will join her buddies in her coop.
