Suddenly unfriendly hen

My 5 month old hen has suddenly become skittish of me. I’ve known her since she was a squeaker, and we’ve always been best friends since. She’s gone on walks and usually hates being away from my

in her cage, she’s mostly just as friendly. Dancing for me and wanting to be pet through the rungs.

But this past month and a half she’s suddenly began fighting me, and now she’s completely skittish of me, acting untamed. The only thing different is my 3 month old has taking a big liking to me and is spending more time with me...

is she just being hormonal? She’s perfectly healthy otherwise, just going through a heavy molt.

Going through a heavy molt is very painful. Chickens will usually run from normal affection because it literally hurts.
