Suedes Daddy and other Orpington Pics

I saw a picture of Buff/Blue cross chicks-they were the prettiest little things I'd ever seen! That would be a possibility for Suede, too, and remove the Brahmas from his pen. He's the sweetest boy, but he is always just startlingly huge to me. And geez, just pick him up, LOL! I had to do that when he hurt his foot-a side effect of being so large and running, sliding, falling down his ramp. I raised the end of the ramp some, even though is wasn't steep in the first place and now he's less awkward, but still, he's quite a sight in person. Like a blue turkey!

Anyone got pics of Blue/Buff Orps crosses??? I think I would guess that they look like golden blue wheaton colored chickens. Neverthanless, temperment and disposition is inherited and its important that we serious orp breeders would cull out the "bad" ones.

Mc Murray got some White Orpingtons but they were only offered a certain period of time.

Julie, could you get a GOOD pic of Blue Boy without all those beauties around him???

Thanks!

Keep your Orp pics coming, need more eye candy!!!! And chocolate ones too LOL

I have one of Blue Boy myself since he's Suede's father.

Yes, he was only about 8 months old or less there. He is in molt now and looks tailless. Not slowing him down in his rooosterly duties. My mother has a blue pullet offspring that is huge and beautiful like Cyns Velvet. She has decided to give her back to me since she didn't want to keep a Roo. I am excited cause she is a beaut. I'll take a pic when I get her.

Julie, I agree, that as handsome as Suede is, Velvet is even a better breed example than he is. She is amazingly fluffy and round. And she laid a whopper egg yesterday, double yolked of course. She is becoming a very regular layer after her hesitant start.
