Suet blocks...Do you feed to your flock?

I've toyed with the idea of making suet blocks for the wild birds but was wondering if it OK to feed suet to chickens and how often. Is the extra fat and carbohydrates a good thing to help them create body heat for this winter?

Great Question! I'd love to know more about this..

I give store bought wild bird suet blocks maybe every other week to my bantams in winter. They rarely go outside since they just sink in the snow (we already have 10") so they get rather bored. They also don't handle the cold as well as the standards which is why they got moved to a new better coop this year.
