Suet Cakes

Hello, question for you all. My chicks have been out in the rain most of the day, did not want to go in when I wanted them too (stubborn little buggers). Can I give them regular suet cakes for other birds for some fat?

Some people give them to them in winter. Mine wouldn't touch them. You can feed a bit of cracked corn and black oil sunflower seeds for extra fat in the diet. Generally it should only be a treat as too much fat is deadly to chickens. A fat hen is an unhealthy hen.

I never suppliment my Birds in winter...Suet if for wild birds..Not Chickens.
Balanced nutrition during winter is all they need to remain healthy...Fresh water at all times..
